I found our conversation and class on 21st century learners to be really interesting. It reaffirmed how important it is to consider the period of time these students are being brought up in. I know that I personally struggle with the idea of children and social media/ technology. It is something that I naturally want to resist, and I’ve been reflecting on why this is. I believe it may be a combination of my own perception of my tech abilities (or lack thereof), and fear of the “internet unknown”.

With this being said, I understand it is my responsibility to “get with the times”, and begin wrapping my idea around the benefits of technology in the classroom. One thing I am left considering is how to make technology accessible for all families particularily if it is something that students will be expected to use outside of school.
